my 24 hours

have been less than excellent.

I got to spend 5 hours in the ER last night.

All day on the phone with various care agencies.

Purchased LifeAlert (yes – really, and yes thats the “I’ve fallen and can’t get up” people)

Started the home health care process.

Spent 2 hours in a dog park.

Spent 4 more hours at the hospital.

Made many phone calls to many family members.

Rewarded myself with a turkey burger and french fries.

Oh – and, here’s the brief story.

Nanny fell at somepoint yesterday. My dad found her at 530 last night, she’d been on the ground for anywhere from 8 – 10 hours. Went to the ER. They thought she had a heart attack… nope. After many hours she got admitted to a room. Met with the Dr. at 72o tonight… he thinks not a heart attack, maybe something else. After attempting to have a conversation with her, he talked with us – MRI is scheduled for tomorrow.

My jobs tomorrow are to schedule in-home health care for overnights for a few days and then 2 shifts a day 7 days a week, work with LIfeAlert to get that scheduled, and who knows what else.

So bummer that this is all happening, but the positive side is that we’ve been waiting for a situation to present itself that let us get the balls rolling for in-home health care and life alert, thank God that in Gods infinite wisdom, the situation only involved herself and didnt injure another person or persons.

And that is how my last 24 hours have gone – what have you been up to?

Oh man! I hope your grandmother is doing better a few days later. That is very scary! That was nice of you to help with the details. I hope she’ll get lots of help now (not that it wasn’t offered before 🙂
